Carya Golf Club
The Beautiful Carya Golf Course is the new venue for this year’s Turkish Airlines Ladies Open.
The course designed by one of the greatest golfers of all time Peter Thomson of Australia. Peter won the Open 5 times. His greatest triumph came in 1965 when all the best players in the world gathered at Royal Birkdale beating Brian Huggett and Christy O’Connor into 2nd and leaving the greats of the that era, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player in his wake.
The course is of unique design to Turkey a heath land design incorporating heather, intricately shaped bunkering set on undulating sand hills, the fairways flow freely through a pine and eucalyptus forest.
The course can be stretched to over 7.000 yards making it a fine test for the best of players while remaining a delight of the yellow tees for the average golfer.
The course is now available for play night and day. The only 18 hole flood lit course in Europe.
The ladies will love the facilities on offer to them during the event, excellent practice facilities and of course the Deluxe Regnum Hotel and Spa.
The National Golf Club
The Championship Course is such a great test from the back tees, measuring just over 7.000 yards. It is generally accepted by the pro`s who play it that if you can make par here then just about every other course should be relatively easy. But of course of the forward markers the course becomes manageable for the middle and higher handicap golfers.
The National has hosted many European Professional Events. For the last 7 years the Home of the Ladies European Tour Turkish Airlines Ladies Open. In 1996 & 1997 the venue for The European Tours, Beko Turkish Seniors Open.
The Ladies Tour is due to return to the National in May 2016.
A team of PGA qualified coaches are on site to fine tune the better players, or set new players on the right road.
A new nine hole course is currently under construction, measuring over 3,000m. The new course will complement the existing championship course, designed by David Jones it features water hazards in play on 5 holes, tree lined fairways, statically positioned bunkers.
The new nine offers players an option to combine it with either the 1st or 2nd nine holes of the championship course.
An excellent driving range, several chipping and putting areas make for a comprehensive training facility.
